What “vegan” tells you about ingredients—and what else to consider when choosing a wash.

What does vegan shampoo mean?
A vegan formula uses no animal-derived ingredients. It may contain plant-derived, mineral-derived and synthetic ingredients. “Vegan” does not mean that every ingredient is a plant extract, or that the formula is free of chemicals.
Some ingredient names do not reveal their source. Glycerin, for example, can be made from different materials. Happy Cappy uses plant-derived glycerin; checking sourcing is part of understanding a vegan claim.
Which Happy Cappy products are vegan?

Their shared vegan status does not make their purposes identical. Use the Daily wash daily or as often as needed, and follow the Medicated wash directions when choosing that product.
Is vegan the same as cruelty-free?
These are different questions: what is in the product, and whether animals are used in testing. A vegan ingredient list alone does not establish an animal-testing policy.
Happy Cappy products are vegan and are not tested on animals. The cruelty-free guide explains how to evaluate that separate claim.
Does vegan mean suitable for every sensitive skin type?
No. Ingredient origin does not guarantee tolerance. A plant-derived ingredient can still be a problem for someone with an allergy, and a synthetic ingredient is not automatically unsuitable.
Choose for the task first: everyday cleansing, medicated washing or moisturizing. Then read the full ingredient list for any known triggers. A vegan claim can help you follow your values, but it does not replace those practical checks.

Does vegan mean organic or all-natural?
No. Those terms describe different things. A vegan formula can contain synthetic ingredients and does not automatically carry an organic certification.
Does vegan shampoo work better just because it is vegan?
Vegan status tells you about ingredient sourcing. Cleansing performance and skin compatibility depend on the finished formula and how you use it.
